The British Open Championship is being played next week at the famous Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland, but local golfers can enjoy some of the same competitive spirit at Alderbrook’s version of the championship.

Scheduled this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15, the Mens’ Club is hosting a two-day two-person team event.

On Saturday play will be a two-person scramble and on Sunday. the  teams will play the popular Chapman style golf.

Payouts will be for Gross and Net scores.

All golfers are welcome to join the fun, according to a spokesman.

Entry forms for this event can be picked up at the pro-shop and the cost is $30 per player.

Green fees are not included in the tournament fee, so non-members will need to pay 18-hole fees both days.

For more information, contact Roby Lane at 503-801-2988 or Aaron Dunn at 503-812-1408.
