Face-lift for 9th Street courts begins May 30

The tennis courts at the city park on 9th Street are getting a facelift and will also be retrofitted for pickle ball thanks to the work of the Tillamook Pickleball Association and a grant from the Tillamook Elks Club.

The pickle ball group is using the Elks grant to resurface and stripe the courts that when finished will be used for tennis like always, but will also host four pickle ball courts.

But due to the resurfacing work, the courts will be closed for a couple of weeks.

Work begins

Thursday, May 30th asphalt grinding and seam sealing

Friday, May 31st power washing

June 3-12 resurfacing in multiple layers and final stripping (dictated by the weather)

The group is also looking for volunteers.

Each workday will begin around 10 a.m. after morning moisture dries and will end around 1-2 p.m.

A volunteer sign-up sheet is located at the fairgrounds (please include your phone number next to your name) or you can contact Dana at drshuford80@gmail.com
