CLOVERDALE - Nestucca Valley School District Superintendent Connie Kennedy recently sent a letter to Nestucca Valley staff and members of the school board telling them she plans to retire in June.

The decision came after discussions between Kennedy and her husband during winter break. The two have been living apart and seeing each other on the weekends, an arrangement that was no longer working for them. Kennedy wrote, "By telling you now, you will have the opportunity to hire a new superintendent for next year instead of going with an intern."
