There is much to like in Commissioner David Yamamoto’s excellent column, but there is one point therein that he should not have conceded: that “We truly need to address the issue of climate change.”
No. We. Don’t.
This science nerd has been watching the “Global Warming” hoax since it first erupted - and it’s a fake issue. The planet is NOT getting warmer - it was warmer in the 1930s than it is now. Earth’s global temperature has been flat for twenty years now. Sea levels are NOT rising, polar bears are NOT dying (they’re overpopulated in some places) and glaciers and polar ice caps are growing, NOT fading away.
There is no actual science to support the doomsday scenarios imagined by the CAGW alarmists. Indeed, the entire CO2-warming hypothesis has been completely scientifically falsified several times, in several ways, by several real scientists, in the past decade. For one thing, it is physically impossible for the CO2 molecule to produce more than a few hundredths of a degree of warming - less than the measurement error of today’s thermometers - on this planet.
Our elected officials would do well to ignore the screaming, angry doomsayers and spend their time (and our resources) on actual problems, instead of this imaginary bogeyman.
