Robert L. McKillip

Graveside services will be held for Robert “Bob” L.  McKillip on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Nestucca Valley Community Cemetery in Hebo.

Bob was born December 20, 1937 in Tillamook, Oregon to Lloyd and Elma (Williams) McKillip and passed away June 27, 2019 in Nehalem, Oregon at the age of 81.

Bob attended Hebo, Pacific City and Cloverdale Grade Schools and then graduated from Nestucca High School in 1956.

Bob went on to attend and play football for the University of Oregon in 1956 and 1957 and then transferred to Linfield College and again played football in 1957-60.

In 1960-61 Bob attended Air Force Flight School training in Harlingen, Texas and Lackland AFB until he was honorably discharged due to an injury.

Bob returned home and began working for Anderson Logging, Crown Zellerbach and then retiring from Tillamook County Creamery after years of driving truck.

Bob loved American Indian memorabilia (End of the Trail), fancy cars, gun collecting and anything to do with the old west. He loved singing to Jim Reeves, Hank Williams and had a beautiful singing voice.

Bob was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a Teamster Union member.

Bob is survived by two daughters Michele Voge (Gordon) of Vancouver, WA., and Patricia Soloman of California, his son Jon McKillip (Cindy) of Sandlake, OR., two brothers Jim McKillip (Kathy) of Beaver, OR. and Keith McKillip of Pacific City, OR. One sister MaryLou Fletcher (Royce) of Cloverdale, OR. Brother in law Steve Gray of Oakland, CA. nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his sister Kaye Gray.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nestucca High School football and wrestling programs.
