Sugar Brosius

I can’t wait. The CowBell Café has reopened! Their opening day was July 3rd, but I haven’t had a chance to stop by for breakfast yet. When I do, I will be sure to share with you how wonderful it is.

There are so many birthdays this month. Just take a breath and read all these names; Lynda Holm, Judy Riggs, Neva Weissenfluh, Tom Martine, Mary Daugherty, Frieda Farr, Sue Vincent, Barbara Croman, Chirag Lately, Russ Haley and my sister on the East Coast, Patti Hoyt. A very happy birthday to all of you that I have missed!

The summer weekday youth program sponsored by the Rockaway Beach Parks and Recreation is in full swing now. Your children can enjoy games, field trips, crafts, weekly swims and more. Stop by our City Hall to register your kids. They are required to register for the field trips. Your kidlets have absolutely no reason to be bored this summer.

The Parks and Rec also have beach bonfires, each Friday evening from 7-9pm. You usually get to enjoy music and somemores. Bring your family and friends. They are lots of fun.

Christmas in July! You say ‘WHAT?’ Well, the library is thinking ahead to the ‘Holiday Table’ they have each year. They would love your new, or gently used items or Christmas décor for their holiday fundraiser. Each Christmas, they have a wonderful holiday table for anyone, I do mean anyone, to purchase a wonderful gift for a family member, guest or even a delightful hostess gift for whatever you want to donate. You can downsize your Christmas box and help the library all at once. Just drop off your items at the library or call. They can arrange a pickup. The sales money will help to pay those pesky bills at our awesome library.

“Somebody didn’t wake up today, but you did. That’s enough reason to stop complaining and that’s enough to be thankful for. Never let your troubles blind you to your daily blessings.” (And all your negativity does rub off on those around you. Choose to be happy!) That’s Rockaway Beach, “Sugar Coated!”
