I hope you are having a great summer so far!
A shout out to all my mutual birthday friends: JoAnne Smith, Mark VanVlack, Jon Johansen, Lori Wilcox, Karen Fanning and Dustin West (from Homelife Furniture). Who knew there were so many people in such a small area born on July 6th?
Garibaldi Days is coming up fast (July 26-28th)!! It’s not too late to get a parade application in. Decorate your boat and fill it with your family! Or your pickup and let your friends ride in the back. Even kids with pets or dressed in their favorite superhero costume. Or riding their bikes. Everybody loves a parade.
I am constantly amazed that people who live and work here have not taken the time to check out the Garibaldi Museum! There is so much history about Garibaldi, Tillamook Bay and Captain Robert Gray. The antique gun collection is really cool. On Friday, July 26th, during Garibaldi Days, they are holding the annual Wine and Cheese Tasting and Silent Auction preview from 4-7 p.m. On Saturday, July 27th, come back to the museum to check on your bids before it ends at 4p.m. Successful bidders may stick around to pay for and pick up their loot.
And speaking of loot, there have been many questions about this year’s Garibaldi Pirate Festival at the Garibaldi Museum on August 17th and 18th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be things for the kids (of all ages!) and obstacles and prizes, as well as a raffle. Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad will have an engaging train ride that you cannot miss. Dress like your inner pirate or come as you are. For more info, contact email@example.com or call 503-322-8411.
Have a safe 4th of July and enjoy the fireworks. Be sure to keep the pets safe!
