Happy New Year! It brings hope and possibilities for what lies ahead.
The Garibaldi Food Bank will be open this Friday, January 11th, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the pantry behind the God’s Lighthouse Church at the corner of 8th and Highway 101.
Thanks to all the people who made the Garibaldi Lions Christmas Basket program such a success this year: The Garibaldi Grade school raised so much money for the baskets this year and had a beautiful ceremony during their Christmas assembly. Pastor Jeff and Lisa Coon, William Jefferson, RJ Irvine, Jeff Voshall, Misty, Kelly Barnett, Patty Moore, and Karna Inman assembled and helped hand out baskets. Les Schwab generously donated many toys to the cause. Garibaldi Bay Market and Fred Meyer graciously let us place a collection barrel in their entries. Lee Godfrey donated toys from Godfrey’s as well as Anna Rzuczak at the Garibaldi Museum. Many people donated clothing and gifts from the Giving Tree. It takes a village and we appreciate all those who helped out again this Christmas.
Since last year flew by, I am anticipating this year to be no different. We are planning the Crab Races and we will be looking for volunteers to help at the event this year. The event will be on March 9-10th at the Old Mill. We will get volunteer forms out soon.
Stamps and package prices will be going up on January 27th. The first class stamp will increase from 50 cents to 55 cents so get them before the increase to save 10%.
Let me know of events to get the word out! See you next week!
