High schools and middle schools in District 3 (northwest corner of Oregon) nominated students from their choirs to come together and form a District High School and Middle School Honor choir.

Nestucca Jr/Sr High sent several students including Chelsea Wallace, Debie Armas, Emilia Cuevas Luna, Morgan Kirkpatrick, Raeanna Hughes, Mariah Hallock and Cameron Weger.

The honor choir performed at St. Helen’s High School on Jan. 31 under the direction of Dr. Paul Klemme from Willamette University and Sandra Brown Williams from Texas.

“I was pleased all our students were good representatives of Nestucca on this trip, both during and in between rehearsing,” Nestucca Jr/Sr High Choir Director Kathleen Serven said. “They learned from the experience, and bring back to our choirs a deeper understanding of the discipline of music.”
