The salty waters of Netarts Bay aren’t just perfect for crabbing, clamming and shoreline fishing, they are also ideal for extracting chef-grade sea salt that is used and valued both domestically and internationally.
Jacobsen Salt Company was founded in 2011 and has since blown up in regards to area industry and unique culinary products made right along the edges of Netarts Bay. The company now employs 10 full time local Tillamook area employees and is growing on a monthly basis. Offering a wide variety of salty products the company excels in providing a unique taste to a burgeoning national culinary trend.
“In the three years I have been here the company has nearly quadrupled in its production capacity,” Tom Gibson, Jacobsen Salt’s Director of Coast Operations said. “Starting this spring and into the summer we will be working to provide a more appreciative visitor experience to our customers who choose to visit us here along Netarts Bay.”
