Tillamook County school districts have cancelled school today after heavy snow fell on the area Monday evening in an unusual March snow storm. Nestucca, Neah-Kah-Nie, Tillamook and Tillamook Adventist have closed for the day.
It appears that the heaviest snowfall reported along the north Oregon Coast was in Tillamook, where close to 4 inches of snow fell.
Power outages were reported throughout the area. At about 10 p.m., Tillamook PUD issued a statement: "Tillamook PUD crews are responding to outages in Bay City, Miami Foley Road, Hwy 101 North of Cheese Factory, and Winema area." At 11 p.m., another update stated crews continued to work throughout Tillamook County. Call 503-842-2122 if you are without power. Stay away from downed power lines.
